It is with regret that we have to inform you that at midnight on Sunday the 30th November 2008 FirstDedicated UK will be closing its doors, and will effectively cease trading.

• At this time, all servers will no longer be available to the web, and it is advised that customers take a local backup of all their data well in advance of this time.

It has become increasingly difficult to maintain and support the FirstDedicated platform in isolation from the rest of the Hostway product line, and in order to meet our own high expectations for the quality of service that we wish to provide in future, it is Hostway Corporation's desire to replace the current FirstDedicated budget server offering with new technology at some time in the future.

We would obviously like to take this opportunity to thank you for your custom thus far, and in order to minimise any inconvenience caused to our customers, we have fixed the above date so that approximately 3 months are now available for you to consolidate your server data, with a view to moving it elsewhere.

• To facilitate an easier transition, we are happy to offer ex-FristDedicated customers an alternative home on one of our Virtual Private Servers within the Hostway network.
  
  
• However this arrangement will be purely on a voluntary basis on your behalf, and the VPS will only be offered at existing prices and specifications which may not meet your exisitng needs.
  
  
• We regret that we will no be able to offer a like-for-like service to replace the FirstDedicated offering.
